About Our Program

Though technically a preschool, “St. George’s Kindergarten” is the original name given to the school by St. George’s Episcopal Church in 1950. Commonly referred to as the largest outreach of the church, St. George’s Kindergarten has an outstanding reputation in the Nashville community and is often considered the largest Episcopal preschool in the country.

Our Goals

One of our most important goals is to develop a love of learning and curiosity in each child, which encourages self-expression through language, music, art, and dramatic play. We strive to develop a well-rounded child who will be ready for the next stage of education.

While the school is steeped in tradition, we focus on implementing the Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). St. George’s Kindergarten is accredited through the National Early Childhood Services Program Accreditation and is consistently rated Three Stars—the highest possible rating by the Tennessee Department of Human Services.
